    The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) is the largest national specialty organization dedicated to improving patient care and quality of life by defining, enhancing, and promoting the role of oncology nurse and patient navigators. Our organization of over 8,900 members was founded in May 2009 to provide a network for all professionals involved and interested in patient navigation and survivorship care services to better manage the complexities of the cancer care treatment continuum for their patients. We view our organization as one consisting of “professional patient advocates” and, to that end, we support and serve our members.
    Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship
    The Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship (JONS) promotes reliance on evidence-based practices in navigating patients with cancer and their caregivers through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. JONS also seeks to strengthen the role of nurse and patient navigators in cancer care by serving as a platform for these professionals to disseminate original research findings, exchange best practices, and find support for their growing community.

Julian Schink, MD Named Chief Medical Officer of Cancer Treatment Centers of America

BOCA RATON, Fla. – January 8, 2019 – Julian Schink, MD has been appointed Chief Medical Officer of Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA). Dr. Schink, a nationally-renowned gynecologic oncologist, brings a wealth of clinical leadership to this role.

Dr. Schink joined CTCA® in May 2017 as Chief of Gynecologic Oncology and serves in a regional clinical leadership capacity at CTCA Chicago where he also cares for patients at both the CTCA Comprehensive Care and Research Center (CCRC) in Zion, Illinois and the Downtown Chicago Outpatient Cancer Center (OCC). As Chief Medical Officer for the comprehensive cancer care network, Dr. Schink will report to Maurie Markman, MD, President, CTCA Medicine & Science.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Schink will provide leadership and direction for CTCA's enterprise-wide clinical programs and serve as a liaison between physicians and administrative leaders across the enterprise.

Dr. Schink has held numerous academic positions, including vice chair of obstetrics and gynecology and professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School; and subsequently an endowed professorship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine as the John I Brewer Professor of gynecology and cancer research.

Dr. Schink has been published in numerous medical journals including more than 125 publications in oncology and women's health. He has authored chapters in oncology textbooks, particularly focusing on gestational trophoblastic disease. He has also served as principal investigator and co-investigator for many large clinical trials responsible for improving and expanding cancer treatment options.

Dr. Schink has been a member of and held leadership positions at several medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation. Dr. Schink has also won several awards for his outstanding work, including listings in America's Top Doctors, The Best Doctors in America and Chicago Super Doctors.
